Anita Gupta, Director
Since coming to America in 1979, Anita Gupta has been committed to cultural exchange in her community. Active in both of her daughters’ schools, she organized cultural events for the students. She also funded a scholarship program at the Space Center Rotary Club for international exchange students and cultural programs. Anita comes from a family that strongly values education, they founded and own a private girls K-12 school in their native India. She makes time to teach Indian values to young people in her temple for the last four years.

Previously, Anita was the Chief Financial Officer of USA Employment. Now Anita handles the relocations of teachers as well as the orientation and acclimation programs that help teachers settle into their new surroundings. Anita also organized mentoring programs for new teachers. She accompanied a school district on their trip to India to show them the real Indian culture and helped them in selecting for their cultural exchange program. Before joining USA Employment, she was the Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer for a large electronics company in Houston for 20 years.

Shivani Gupta, Director of Business Development
Shivani has always had a keen interest in various cultures and languages. In school she was Chairman of international organizations, language organizations, and part of the various Indian cultural activities and performances. Shivani studied abroad in Italy for a semester and it is there that she truly immersed herself in another culture and saw the value and change in perspective that comes from living in another person’s shoes. Because of this experience, Shivani wishes that everyone could have a similar experience and see the world through another countryman’s eyes.

At Babson College, Shivani studied marketing and entrepreneurship and created an entrepreneurship conference for the student body that had 8 panels, 26 speakers, and over 400 attendees. She was very involved in the cultural organizations of the school and worked to bring them all together for this one campus-wide event.

Shivani Gupta has traveled extensively for USA Employment meeting with schools, interacting with teachers, and maintaining the overall quality of the program. She is working to expand the company by establishing the organization in new markets, working in new states, and expanding the countries that USA Employment represents.

Jay Kumar, Founder
A native of India and an active member of Houston’s business and social community for more than two decades, Jay Kumar has provided strategic vision and leadership to the Company. His mission of making an impact on education has created a ripple effect that has affected hundreds of teachers and thousands of students.

Mr. Kumar has also owned and operated a consumer computer electronics distribution company that grew to 60 employees and $40 million in revenues. His commitment to the local community has been evident in his involvement in such organizations as the Clear Lake and Galleria Area Chambers of Commerce; the Space Center Rotary Club; The Executive Committee; the India Culture Center; and the Greater Houston Partnership.

Jason Lyons, Senior Consultant
Mr. Lyons brings a varied background of public relations, marketing, industry sales and print media to his position at USA Employment. In his role, Mr. Lyons managed all sales and marketing efforts of the Company and served as an operational liaison to the Company’s office in India as well as agents worldwide. Mr. Lyons served as the Company’s spokesperson to community organizations, industry associations and the media.

Previously, Mr. Lyons assisted in the formation of a Houston-based public relations and marketing agency that provided strategic communications consultancy to B2B technology companies. Mr. Lyons founded and served as president of a professional development and networking organization for young professionals in Houston, which garnered the support and affiliation of an international organization with more than 200 chapters worldwide. He also has served on an event committee with the American Heart Association for four years.

Jo Nell Yarbrough, Senior Consultant
Mrs. Yarbrough, a recent retiree from the Houston Independent School District, brings a wealth of educational expertise through her work as a teacher, and for the last 24 years, as a valuable member of HISD’s Human Resources Department.

Her last five years were spent exclusively with International Recruitment, which entailed travel to Spain, China, the Philippines, Panama, and Russia. In addition, she worked closely with immigration attorneys and the state education agency to ensure the teachers were properly processed and met the stringent state requirements. This international effort was part of a plan to assist the school district in meeting severe shortages in numerous teaching fields and to make the school district a leading entity in providing cultural diversity and outstanding resources to students growing up in a multicultural environment.
